Silhouette Soft® products are sterile, implantable, and bioresorbable medical devices intended for use in adult patients to reposition and fixate the sub-dermis in an elevated position to treat morphological asymmetry and tissue laxity. The resorbable sterile implantable single-use device is designed to reshape the surface of the skin as well as lift sagging skin and neck tissue. Furthermore, Silhouette Soft® helps to tighten the skin and restore lost facial volume by enhancing the body’s own collagen production.

Silhouette Soft® products are sterile, implantable, and bioresorbable medical devices. They are intended for use in adult patients to reposition and fixate the sub-dermis in an elevated position to treat morphological asymmetry and tissue laxity. The Silhouette Soft® devices contain a single poly L-lactic acid (PLLA) monofilament, onto which are threaded a number of poly (L-lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) hollow cones.

• This product is used to correct early signs of aging such as light sagging. In skin that does not have severe sagging, the sutures offer an alternative to a surgical facelift as they lift and tighten the skin.
• Silhouette Soft is a medical procedure that involves the insertion of suture threads under the skin, to a depth of five millimeters. First, a small amount of local anesthetic is administered.
• The threads are inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin by using a fine needle, through an entry point. The patient will have entry/exit points for the needle in the targeted area, this is to enable the insertion of the thread in each half, appropriate to the orientation of the cones.

Procedure Steps:

1. Skin Laxity Scale: We provide a graphic representation of facial aging patterns for both genders, complete with recommended protocols. The scale establishes – and helps you evaluate – the main anatomical and physiological factors involved in the face aging process, so you can better select and communicate with patients.
2. Step 1: Identify the superficial fat pads to be repositioned.
3. Step 2: Define the position of the most distal cone – the Last Cone.
4. Step 3: Determine the most efficient vector.

Contraindications:

1. Allergic Reaction: Patients with known allergies to biomaterials should avoid this treatment.
2. Infection or Inflammation: Any active infection or inflammation at the proposed treatment sites contraindicates the use of SILHOUETTE SOFT®.
3. Autoimmune Disorders: Patients with autoimmune diseases may have an increased risk of complications and should generally avoid this treatment.
4. Bleeding Disorders: It’s not recommended for patients with bleeding disorders due to the risk of hematoma or excessive bleeding.
5. Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: As a general precaution, it’s not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
6. Severe Ptosis: Patients with severe ptosis may not achieve satisfactory results from this treatment and may require surgical intervention.
7. Poor Skin Quality: Those with thin, loose skin may not have enough tissue to support the cones and threads.
8. Previous Facial Surgery: Careful consideration should be given to patients who have had previous facial surgery, as scar tissue might affect the outcome.
9. Use of Certain Medications: Some medications, like anticoagulants, can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising.

After-care:

As soon as the sutures are inserted, the results can be seen, as the threads lift the skin. And as the sutures progressively dissolve within the skin, they keep the new collagen growth, thus results can last about eighteen months to two years.
