The actual duration of effects is highly dependent upon the lifestyle and physiology of the patient. However, it has been noted that it can last for 3 to 6 months after injection.

Start with an injection of 1.25-2.5 units (0.05-0.1 mL at each location) into the inner and outer parts of the upper eyelid’s orbicularis oculi muscle, as well as into the outer part of the lower eyelid’s orbicularis oculi muscle. The maximum initial dose should be 25 units per eye, and the total dosage should not exceed 100 units every three months.

This medication is indicated for the following uses:

• Treatment of blepharospasm (eye twitching) related to dystonia, including benign essential blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, or VIIth nerve disorders in patients 12 years and older.
• Management of spasmodic torticollis (neck muscle contractions), also known as cervical dystonia, in adults.
• Treatment of dynamic equinus foot deformity due to muscle stiffness in pediatric cerebral palsy patients aged 2 years and above.
• Relief from excessive sweat (hyperhidrosis) in the underarm area.
• Management of urinary incontinence resulting from neurogenic detrusor overactivity, such as that caused by spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis in adults.
• Correction of cross-eyes (strabismus) in patients aged 12 years and older.
• Temporary treatment of frown lines (glabellar lines) linked with corrugator and/or procerus muscle activity in patients under 65 years.
• Treatment of focal muscle stiffness, including stiffness associated with stroke.
• Temporary enhancement in the appearance of upper facial wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.
• Prevention of headaches in patients with chronic migraines.

Meditoxin, a product from Medytox Inc., is a type A botulinum toxin renowned for its high safety and quality standards. • Meditoxin should only be applied on patients by qualified medical professionals.
• The product is diluted in a sterile solution in preparation for injection.
• It is then injected directly into the muscle targeted for treatment.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity.
• Myasthenia gravis or Eaton-Lambert syndrome, presence of infection at the proposed inj site.
• Acute UTI & acute urinary retention who are not routinely performing clean intermittent self-catheterization.

After-care:

• Patients are advised to not perform any physically taxing tasks when using Meditoxin.
• Patients are also recommended to avoid exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
• The doctor might also have some additional dos and don’ts when it comes to activities, beverages, or food.
