Each weekly dose of MOUNJARO® 7.5mg KwikPen® is delivered by subcutaneous injection and can be administered at any time of day, with or without food. The abdomen, thigh, and back of the upper arm are all appropriate injection sites; the upper arm is recommended when a second person is assisting with the injection. Rotating the chosen site from one week to the next helps minimize localized skin responses.
Tirzepatide titration opens at 2.5mg once weekly for 4 weeks before advancing to 5mg. The 7.5mg strength represents the next escalation point — an intermediate step between the 5mg level and the 10mg maintenance dose, used when clinical judgment supports a gradual increase rather than a direct advance to the next maintenance threshold. All dose adjustments should be spaced at least 4 weeks apart and guided by the patient’s response and tolerability, with 15mg weekly as the upper limit.
If a weekly dose is missed, it may still be administered within 4 days (96 hours) of the missed dose. Once that window closes, the dose should be skipped and the regular weekly schedule resumed from the next planned date. Insulin co-administration requires a separate injection site; the two products should never be combined at a single site.
