SUPARTZ FX is a hyaluronic acid (HA) multi-injection therapy proven to relieve knee pain in patients with mild to moderate osteoarthritis (OA).
SUPARTZ FX is indicated for treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative non-pharmacologic therapy and simple analgesics, e.g., acetaminophen.

SUPARTZ FX is a natural, non-opioid, FDA-approved therapy for knee osteoarthritis. It is created from highly purified animal-derived hyaluronic acid, to offer an unbeatable combination of effectiveness, dosing flexibility, and affordability. SUPARTZ FX is supplied as a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution in 2.5 mL pre-filled syringe.
- SUPARTZ FX is administered by intra-articular injection once a week (1 week apart) for a total of 5 injections.
- Some patients may experience benefit with 3 injections given at weekly intervals. This has been noted in a study in which patients treated with of subcutaneous lidocaine or similar local anesthetic may be recommended prior to injection of SUPARTZ FX.
Contraindications
Who should NOT have SUPARTZ therapy? People who:
- Are allergic to poultry and products from birds (such as feathers and eggs)
- Have infections or skin diseases in the area the injection will be given
- Have had any previous allergic reactions to SUPARTZ therapy or similar material, i.e., hyaluronate products.
- The safety and effectiveness of SUPARTZ therapy have not been established in pregnant women, lactating women, and children.
- Risks can include general knee pain, warmth and redness or pain at the injection site.
After-care
As with any invasive joint procedure, it is recommended that the patient avoid any strenuous activities or prolonged (i.e., more than 1 hour) weight-bearing activities such as jogging or tennis within the 48 hours that follow the intraarticular injection.
