XOLAIR® 150mg

Administer Xolair 75 to 375 mg by subcutaneous injection every 2 or 4 weeks. Determine dose (mg) and dosing frequency by serum total IgE level (IU/mL) measured before the start of treatment, and by body weight (kg). Adjust doses for significant changes in body weight during treatment.

Xolair is an anti-IgE antibody indicated for:

• Moderate to severe persistent asthma in patients 6 years of age and older with a positive skin test or in vitro reactivity to a perennial aeroallergen and symptoms that are inadequately controlled with inhaled corticosteroids.
• Chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older who remain symptomatic despite H1 antihistamine treatment.

Limitations of use:

• Not indicated for other allergic conditions or other forms of urticaria.
• Not indicated for acute bronchospasm or status asthmaticus.

XOLAIR® (omalizumab) for subcutaneous use is an injectable prescription medicine used to treat chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) in people 18 years of age and older when medicines to treat CRSwNP called nasal corticosteroids have not worked well enough.

• XOLAIR should be given by your healthcare provider in a healthcare setting.
• XOLAIR is given in 1 or more injections under the skin (subcutaneous), 1 time every 2 or 4 weeks.
• In asthma patients, a blood test for a substance called IgE must be performed prior to starting XOLAIR to determine the appropriate dose and dosing frequency.
• In patients with chronic hives, a blood test is not necessary to determine the dose or dosing frequency.
• Do not decrease or stop taking any of your other asthma or hive medicine unless your healthcare providers tell you to.
• You may not see improvement in your symptoms right away after XOLAIR treatment.

Contraindications

Do not receive XOLAIR if you:

• are allergic to omalizumab or any of the ingredients.
• Have severe hypersensitivity reaction to Xolair or any ingredient of Xolair.

After-care

• Do not decrease or stop taking any of your other asthma, CRSwNP, or hive medicine unless your healthcare providers tell you to.
• You may not see improvement in your symptoms right away after XOLAIR treatment. If your asthma symptoms do not improve or get worse, call your healthcare provider.
• If you inject more XOLAIR than prescribed, call your healthcare provider right away.
