JUVÉDERM® VOLUX® with Lidocaine injectable gel is indicated for subcutaneous and/or supraperiosteal injection for improvement of jawline definition in adults over the age of 21 with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUX® with Lidocaine is injected directly into the jaw area to improve definition in adults over 21 with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. It provides volume to augment the shape and structure of the lower face, creating a smooth contour along the jawline and/or reducing the appearance of jowls. Lidocaine in the gel improves injection comfort by reducing pain sensitivity.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUX® with Lidocaine injectable gel is a sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, clear, colorless, homogeneous gel implant. It consists of hyaluronic acid (HA) produced by Streptococcus species of bacteria crosslinked with BDDE, formulated to a concentration of 25 mg/mL with 0.3% w/w lidocaine in a physiologic buffer.

Injection Technique:

• Needle Selection: 25G or 27G needle with a blunt tip for controlled placement and minimal tissue disruption.
• Cannulation: Cannulas are preferred, especially in the glabellar region and jawline, to reduce bruising and bleeding risks.
• Injection Technique:
  • Deep layer bolus injections for volumization and definition.
  • Serial puncture technique for precise distribution, particularly for glabellar lines.
  • Layering technique may be used in combination with other Juvederm® fillers for a comprehensive volumizing effect.

Important Considerations:

• Juvederm® Volux® with Lidocaine is for licensed practitioners with advanced training in deep dermal filler injections and facial anatomy.
• Aseptic technique is essential to minimize infection risks.
• Lidocaine helps with pain management, but additional local anesthesia might be necessary.
• Advise patients on potential side effects like bruising, swelling, and tenderness.

Additional Tips:

• Use aspiration during injection with cannulas to minimize vascular occlusion.
• Start with a conservative amount of filler and perform touch-ups if needed after two weeks.
• Advise patients to avoid strenuous activity or excessive manipulation of the treated area.
• Post-injection cooling therapy may help reduce swelling and discomfort, especially in the glabellar region.

Remember:

• Juvederm® Volux® with Lidocaine is not intended for the under-eye area, lip augmentation, or patients with unrealistic expectations.

Contraindications:

• Severe allergies to MABTHERA, lidocaine, or previous experience with allergic reactions to HA-based dermal fillers.

After-care:

• Minimize strenuous exercise, sun exposure, heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours.
• If swelling occurs, apply an ice pack over the swollen area.
