WEGOVY® FLEXTOUCH 0.5mg (Danish)

Wegovy™ is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection). Wegovy™ is supplied as a clear and colourless solution for injection in a pre-filled pen.

Dosage Forms:

Wegovy™ is available in:

• A carton of 4 single-use, disposable, pre-filled pens delivering doses of either 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg. The 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, and 1 mg pens contain 0.5 mL solution.
• A carton of 1 multi-use, disposable, pre-filled pen delivering doses of either 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg. The 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg pens contain 1.5 mL solution. The 1 mg pen contains 3 mL of solution.

Usual Dose:

• The recommended dose is 2.4 mg once weekly.
• Start at a low dose, gradually increasing over 16 weeks of treatment.
• Starting dose: 0.25 mg once weekly.
• Gradually increase dose every 4 weeks until reaching 2.4 mg once weekly.

Wegovy™ is used for chronic weight management in addition to reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity in adults with:

• BMI of 30 kg/m2 or greater (with obesity), or a BMI of 27 kg/m2 and less than 30 kg/m2 (overweight) and weight-related health problems.

Wegovy™ is similar to a natural hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that is released from the intestine after a meal. It works by causing you to feel fuller and less hungry. Wegovy™ should be used along with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

• Wegovy™ is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection).
• Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
• Before first use, your healthcare professional will show you how to use it.
• Always use as prescribed. Only inject one dose once weekly.
• Do not share pens or needles with others.
• Use once a week on the same day if possible.
• If necessary, change the injection day, ensuring at least 3 days between doses.
• Start a reduced calorie meal plan and physical activity program when beginning Wegovy™ and continue throughout treatment.

Contraindications:

• Do not use Wegovy™ if:
• You are allergic to semaglutide or any ingredients.
• You or a family member has ever had medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Do not use as a substitute for insulin.

After-care:

• Your doctor will assess your treatment regularly.
• Do not stop without consulting your doctor.

Overdose:

• If you use more Wegovy™ than prescribed, talk to your doctor immediately.
• You may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or hypoglycemia.

Missed Dose:

• If you forget to inject:
• If it is 5 days or less since the missed dose, use it as soon as you remember and continue with your regular schedule.
• If it is more than 5 days, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
