LUMIGAN® (3x3ml)

LUMIGAN® 0.01% is a prescription eye drop approved to lower eye pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or high eye pressure (ocular hypertension). The recommended dose of LUMIGAN® 0.01% is 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening. LUMIGAN® 0.01% may be used alone or with other eye drops to lower eye pressure for patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

LUMIGAN® is a prostaglandin analog indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

LUMIGAN® eye drops contains the active ingredient bimatoprost. LUMIGAN® eye drops is used to lower raised pressure in the eye and to treat glaucoma.

• For ocular use only. NOT FOR INJECTION INTO THE EYE
• Contact lenses should be removed prior to instillation of LUMIGAN® 0.01% and 0.03% and may be reinserted 15 minutes following its administration.
• The recommended dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
• LUMIGAN® 0.01% and 0.03% (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) should not be administered more than once daily since it has been shown that more frequent administration of prostaglandin analogs may decrease the intraocular pressure lowering effect.
• Reduction of the intraocular pressure starts approximately 4 hours after the first administration with maximum effect reached within approximately 8 to 12 hours.
• LUMIGAN® may be used concomitantly with other topical ophthalmic drug products to lower intraocular pressure.
• If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered at least five (5) minutes apart.
• Do not touch the dropper tip against your eye, eyelid or anything else, to avoid contaminating the eye drops.
• Do not stop using LUMIGAN® eye drops without checking with your doctor. Your eye pressure can rise again and may cause damage to your eye.

Contraindication

Do not use LUMIGAN® eye drops if:

• you are allergic to bimatoprost, or any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
• the seal around the cap is broken, the bottle/packaging shows signs of tampering, or the product does not look quite right.

After-care

• Store it in a cool dry place away from moisture, heat or sunlight; for example:
• do not store it in the bathroom or near a sink, or
• do not store it in the car or on window sills.
• Ensure the lid is closed tightly after each use.
• Keep it where young children cannot reach it.
• Discard the bottle 28 days after first opening it.
