The MOUNJARO® 10mg KwikPen® has been designed with convenience and precision in mind, ensuring patients receive a reliable, effective therapy. Its features reflect both its medical efficacy and patient-friendly design.

• Multi-dose pen containing 4 weekly doses

• Once-weekly subcutaneous administration

• Disposable device designed for single-patient use

• Each injection delivers a full 0.6 mL dose when dialed to 1 on the dose window

• Can be administered at any time of the day, with or without food

• Injection day can be changed if necessary, provided at least 3 days pass since the previous dose

• Needles are not included and must be obtained separately

MOUNJARO® 10mg KwikPen® is prescribed for adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy when metformin is unsuitable or in combination with other antidiabetic therapies. It is also indicated for weight management in specific patients with elevated BMI.

• Indications:

  • Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

  • Weight management for adults with BMI ≥30 kg/m² (obesity)

  • Adults with BMI ≥27 to <30 kg/m² with at least one weight-related comorbidity such as hypertension, dyslipidaemia, cardiovascular disease, obstructive sleep apnoea, prediabetes, or type 2 diabetes

• Contraindications:

  • Known hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or any excipients

  • Not recommended in patients with severe gastrointestinal disease (e.g., gastroparesis) or a history of pancreatitis

• Side effects:

  • Most common: nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation

  • Risk of hypoglycaemia when used with sulphonylurea or insulin

  • Injection-site reactions: redness, swelling, or itching

  • Gallbladder events reported in a small percentage of patients

  • Rare: acute pancreatitis, serious hypersensitivity reactions

The formulation and presentation of MOUNJARO® 10mg KwikPen® have been carefully designed to provide both stability and usability. The pen contains tirzepatide as the active substance along with supporting excipients.

• Active substance: Tirzepatide 10 mg per 0.6 mL dose

• Total per pen: 40 mg tirzepatide in 2.4 mL solution

• Concentration: 16.7 mg/mL

• Excipients: Includes benzyl alcohol (~5.4 mg per 0.6 mL dose) and buffer components

• Sodium content: <1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per dose (sodium-free)

• Appearance: Clear, colourless to slightly yellow solution

• Packaging: Each pack contains one KwikPen® device with 4 fixed doses; needles are not included

The MOUNJARO® 10mg KwikPen® is designed for ease of use, ensuring patients can self-administer safely with proper instruction. Administration should always follow the guidance of a prescribing healthcare professional.

• Step 1: Wash hands and inspect the pen to confirm correct medicine and dose

• Step 2: Attach a new sterile needle for each injection

• Step 3: Prime the pen before first use to ensure correct dosing

• Step 4: Dial the dose knob until the 1 symbol appears in the dose window (equal to 0.6 mL)

• Step 5: Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm

• Step 6: Push the knob fully and hold for 5 seconds until the 0 symbol is shown in the window

• Step 7: Remove the needle, discard it in a sharps container, and replace the pen cap

• Missed dose: If within 4 days, inject as soon as possible; if more than 4 days late, skip and resume on the scheduled day

• Rotation of injection sites is recommended to reduce local irritation
